The Hope Foundation of Kenya began as a dream of Allan and Eve Owano and Bobby and Lisa Bechtel who wanted to help starving children to get food, and an education. Above all else, they wanted the children and their families to know that all the gifts came from God. They started feeding just 25 children in 2005 and now they have over 1000 children enrolled and thriving in their schools near Mombasa, Kenya. Their personal hope is that by meeting basic physical needs they can help to transform the lives of whole family groups and communities in a drastic way.
The Hope Foundation of Kenya, Inc. is a 501(c)3 Nonprofit organization that has a goal to provide food, education, basic health care, Biblical truth and God's love to families in poverty.
Over the past twenty years, we have built a school system that runs from pre-primary to high school. Presently we have over 1,000 students learning on our campuses. All of these children receive free nutritious meals and no cost medical care. Our educational system has produced intelligent, well-rounded adults with a growing number of our alumni attending and graduating from university and vocational training programs.
Just look at these stats:
Each school provides food, water, and education for children. These schools minister to the mind, body, and spirit. The children are in a wholesome environment filled with encouragement and motivation to work hard to achieve their best. Students receive HOPE of a bright future and a way out of poverty.
Without the message of God there is no HOPE. In everything we do, we seek to build the church and share the wonderful hope of Jesus Christ. We do this through education, community enhancement and sharing God's love to everyone we meet. Families and communities are forever impacted and continue that legacy.
We could not do this without an amazing group of people that have a passion for God's work in Kenya. We are so thankful for the team that has come together to see Hope Foundation of Kenya thrive and grow for God's kingdom.
